 Autoresponders For Internet Marketing

This is a confusing topic for many people, but it really does not need to be so. Part of the problem is because the term "autoresponder" is used by many vendors and marketers in the wrong context.

A pure autoresponder is a software program that automatically sends a reply email after you have sent a message to a certain email address. The email autoresponder address could be for example test@netincomecentral.com, and usually it is set up such that if you send any email to this address (including a blank with no subject and no body content) you will receive a reply.

The reply that you receive may be the full information that you need or it may contain instructions on the next step you should take. Either way it is a fast, cheap and automatic way of communicating with prospective customers or clients.

It you "subscribe" to an autoresponder email address you may just get the one reply, or a series of emails, it just depends on how the owner has set it up. This is the basic autoresponder.

What is more common these days, and why there is some confusion, is that the term "autoresponder" is used to refer to a complete and complex email management system, which includes the basic autoresponder described above, but is only a small part of what the product can do for you.
