Niche Marketing In Affiliate Marketing
One of the hottest trends in recent years has been the development of the niche marketing concept. In the early years of the internet the general idea was to blast out ads to a wide range of markets and hope that some of it hit the mark. However as the consumer became more educated about the internet and what was being shown to them they quickly learnt to ignore ads about insurance when they were surfing the net for a new fishing rod. What this meant for the advertiser was that the money being spent on insurance ads being blasted out to a mass market was being largely wasted, although it had worked early on, probably because the internet was so new and people found it interesting to click on all the ads. So, in order not to waste adverting dollars the smarter marketers learnt that it was more profitable to target their insurance ads to people who were surfing around for insurance and similar products. How big is a niche?, this is a good question, and how big does a niche have to be to make it worthwhile creating a product for and marketing to?, again these are critical questions when considering entering a niche market.
